Elite Dance Academy is a nationally ranked and award winning competitive company. Dancers attend a minimum of five regional competitions and one national competition, rotating in-state, out-of-state yearly. Auditions are held during the summer and rehearsals begin prior to the start of the school year. Any dancers who participate on the competitive company are required to train year round. 

 

The Competitive Company currently consists of the following companies:

 

Prep Company

Prep Company is designed for dancers looking to enter the competitive arena that have minimal experience. The program helps prepare them to take on the intensity of our company. Dancers typically compete one piece during competition season, although depending on the dancers, they may compete in up to 3.

Apprentice Company

Apprentice Company consists of dancers who have some experience in competing or dancing. They take a minimum of 5 hours of training  per week, plus additional  rehearsals. Dancers on Apprentice Company will compete between 2 to 5 group dances during competition. These dances range in style from jazz, tap, modern, lyrical, hip hop, contemporary, and musical theater.

Company

Company consists of experienced dancers who excel in many forms of dance. They take a minimum of 8 hours of training  per week, plus additional technique classes and rehearsals. Dancers on Company will compete between 3 to 8 group dances during competition. These dances range in style from jazz, tap, modern, lyrical, hip hop, contemporary, and musical theater. 

 

All level placements are chosen after the audition and are based on technical ability, work ethic, performance quality, and attitude. The Elite Competitive Company is a year long commitment from both the parents and the student and every dancer placed on team must commit to every competition including nationals. Every team member is required to take the appropriate technique classes chosen for him or her at their audition. In addition to training and competing, the competitive company participates in fundraisers, master classes and fun team building events!

Training Program

Our training only program allows dancers who are unable to fully commit to the performance side of our company the opportunity to train with our competitive dancers. Dancers interested must attend our company audition to be placed in the appropriate level. Please understand that a dancer can be moved up or down a level throughout the entire season.
